Nikos Zarkos has shown a keen interest in exploring the uncharted peripheries of the modern guitar repertoire, while at the same time he has been treasuring the Greek guitaristic literature.

Born in Kavala, Greece, in 1981, started playing the guitar at the age of 8 and received his academic training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (Bachelor of Music) with professor Robert Brightmore, and also at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg – Augsburg (Diplommusiker K.A. and Meisterklassendiplom) with professor Franz Halasz.

His discography includes two solo CDs: Greek Guitar Music of the 21^st Century (2011, Subways Music) and Female Writing for Guitar (2013, Irida Classical).

Ο Νίκος Ζάρκος έχει επιδείξει έντονο ενδιαφέρον γύρω από την εξερεύνηση των αχαρτογράφητων περιφερειών του σύγχρονου κιθαριστικού ρεπερτορίου, αποθησαυρίζοντας την ίδια στιγμή την Ελληνική κιθαριστική εργογραφία.

Γεννημένος στην Καβάλα το 1981, ξεκίνησε τις σπουδές κιθάρας σε ηλικία 8 ετών και έλαβε την ακαδημαϊκή του εκπαίδευση στο Guildhall School of Music & Drama του Λονδίνου (Bachelor of Music) με καθηγητή τον Robert Brightmore, καθώς επίσης και στη Μουσική Ακαδημία Νυρεμβέργης – Augsburg (Diplommusiker K.A. και Meisterklassendiplom) με καθηγητή τον Franz Halasz.

Η δισκογραφία του περιλαμβάνει δύο προσωπικά CD: Ελληνική Μουσική του 21^ου Αιώνα για Κιθάρα (2011, Subways Music) και Γυναικεία Γραφή για Κιθάρα (2013, Irida Classical).
